Introduction
This tutorial shows you how to join two strips of bias together to make a single strip before placing the bias on the fabric!
Material :
- Two bias strips
- Thread matching the bias
- Clips or Pins
- Sewing meter
- Unpick quickly
- Wire cutting scissors
- Erasable pen
- Sewing machine needle
- Sewing machine
- Scissors
- Iron
The steps:
- Cut the ends of the bias strips at right angles. This ensures a clean and precise join.
- Open the bias and place the two bias strips right sides together at a right angle (if your fabric has a pattern, make sure the patterns are aligned to maintain continuity). Pin the strips together.
Sew diagonally.
- Sew with a straight stitch following the diagonal formed by the superposition of the two strips. Use a straight line for this diagonal seam.
- Unfold the bias. Open the seam and iron it flat to obtain a smooth and clean join.
Here you are with two perfectly assembled bias strips, ready to be placed on a fabric!
